In 2017, three local musicians had a chance meeting in the streets of Riverdale when Dave and Deborah saw Eli walking his dog, Pepper.  They began talking (the humans, not the dog) and decided then and there to form The Long Shakes.  Today the lineup features Deborah and Dave sharing lead vocals and harmonies, Eli’s signature clean lead guitar lines, Kerry's wailing saxophone, and Mason's bass guitar as their foundation (with Deborah’s percussion and Dave’s rhythm guitar).  The band plays an eclectic mix of Singer-songwriter Originals and Roots Americana from modern tunes through the past 50 years.  The Long Shakes (named after Deborah’s tambourine technique) can be seen and heard performing in Manhattan and the Bronx from the 92nd Street Y to the coolest downtown venues to authentic Irish Pub An Beal Bocht and even local farmer’s markets.  For more information, video and audio, check them out on Youtube, Facebook, and Spotify.
